Xiaomi Redmi 2 Alcatel One Touch Pop 2 4.5, HTC Desire 510 to 410 of the Snapdragon cheap, does it import?
The
midrange of 2014 was marked by the ubiquity of devices with Snapdragon
400 which had the advantage of being compatible with 4G while being
integrated into smartphones at moderate prices. In 2015, Qualcomm
Snapdragon 410 is in the spotlight, and offers the benefits of
Snapdragon 400, 64 bit more. How to make sense of the different
references available or announced earlier this year, less than 200
euros?
One of the latest smartphones equipped with a
Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC 410 is none other than the Redmi 2 Xiaomi, a
small smartphone charged around one hundred euros in China and about 150
dollars on import sites in its first version, with 1GB of RAM and 8GB
of storage. It will be released elsewhere in the coming days with 16 GB
of storage and 2 GB of RAM, a much more generous configuration for an
entry level machine. At this price and in its original form, however, it
seems like an excellent deal. The point of putting the mat competition?
Facing
the Xiaomi phone, there are several devices available through the usual
sales channels. HTC Desire 510 (175 euros) features indeed similar
characteristics, as well as the Alcatel One Touch Pop 2 4.5 (139 euros).
Does this mean saying no to import? Not so sure.

Screen
Apart
from the Alcatel One Touch, 4.5 inches, these smartphones feature
4.7-inch screens. But their definition varies from completely: the Xiaomi
has indeed 720p IPS screen which gives a resolution of 312 dpi, more
than enough for this type of smartphones. At his side, as HTC Alcatel
One Touch are struggling to compete puiqu’ils prefer both LCD 480 x 854
pixels. At HTC, so we get a resolution of 208 dpi when its competitor
rises to 218 dpi. Screen edges of the three devices are fairly thick but
in terms of viewing angles and color fidelity, IPS takes the cake.
Under the hood
Everyone
now chooses to associate a minimum of 1 GB of RAM 410 Snapdragon
(MSM8916), when some phones even dare to go out in 2014 with only 512 MB
of RAM. So this is the standard lot of this type of aircraft, coupled
with SoC quad version clocked at 1.2 GHz. As for performance, so you
have to expect the similar, although the optimization provided by each
plays a big role. In this regard, we note the release of Android 4.4.4
Redmi 2 associated with MIUI 6.0. Alcatel One Touch has also opted for
Android KitKat, but no particular interface 4.4.2, 4.4.2 and HTC offers
the associated Sense UI 5.5. In terms of internal memory, however, we
find similar characteristics: all adopt the combination 8GB of internal
storage and micro-SD port. This is significantly better than the 4GB
granted by the entry level of previous years, and that left very little
space to install new applications.
